Solosol Energia Spain. Solcrafte. Kioto Austria. Walter Daxer. Tim Harman. Solcrafte Domo Premium

Our experience with the above mentioned companies and sales persons is the following:

We decided in 2012 to replace our (very expensive) propane gas installation here in Spain for hot water/heating by a solar system and thought, Solcrafte Domo Premium would fit our needs.

After many consultations, frequent questions and investigations via Mr. Tim Harman/Solosol Spain, we - my partner and I - decided to go ahead and agreed to buy the system in october 2012 from Solosol, Spain, with a delivery time of max. 2 weeks. Long story in short: it took months until all of the equipment came; information supplied was either not supplied, or incorrect and even false. Delivery dates were never met.We had to buy extra gas and the installation was delayed until march 2013. Additional costs were made for heating, since the system did not do what was promised.
We have to conclude, that the smooth talks did not reflect true knowlegde, the promises about the system were incorrect. Nor did Mr Harman took his responsability, nor did he work according his many promises. We cannot recommend this person as a reliable solar-expert.

We contacted Solcrafte Spain - a subdivision of Kioto Photovoltaic, Spain - in januari 2013, because it was impossible to communicate further with Mr. Harman.
They took it over, and we must say, their service, the answering of the many questions that followed prior to installation, were handled excellently. Great compliment!

In march 2014 we got problems with the system and we contacted Solcrafte Spain. They informed us, that Mr. Walter Daxer was now responsible for business in Spain for Kioto/Solcrafte. He advised us by phone to de-air the system. Our installator came in total 3 times, but it did not work out. We supposed, the expansion vessel and a valve did not funcion well. Mr. Daxer agreed and wanted to order the parts in Austria.
For pragmatic reasons - and given our bad experience in 2012/2013 with delivery of equipment and missing/wrong parts - we asked to order this directly in Spain, which would be faster and cheaper. And would save us very high energy bills for every day, we cannot use the solar system. He agreed, and told us to arrange it. Glad with his cooperation, we arranged this.

12.5.2014 the reparation was made. We sent the invoice for this to Mr. Daxer. Endless back-and-forth mails followed and on the 13th of september, he transferred the handling of this complaint - within the 2 years guarantee period - to the complaints dept since he was unable to fix it.

To make a very stressful and unacceptable story short: until now, mid october 2014, we are still awaiting. We gave full disclosure of all relevant correspondance. Plus detailed overview of the experiences of 2012/2013. Did write to all companies of Kioto, to the Management and without any response. Only again a request, to send in the bills (which we did 12.5 and 3.6 and 4.9). We have given up and are now taking formal and legal steps, via the relevant consumer protecting organizations of the EU, Austria and Spain.
We have tried many times, to settle this matter in a constructive way but did not receive any cooperation, nor excuse. It is unbelievable to us, that such a large company does not want to handle a simple (and not expensive) guarantee issue in time and correctly.

I can only conclude, that Mr. Daxer is also not taking up his responsability and is not working according to his formal agreement.

I sincerely hope that future clients of Solcrafte Domo Premium or other products by Solosol, Kioto Austria or Solarenergy/Solosol Spain will not have these horrible experiences.

I would like to advise you to be very careful by taking on promises or guarantees, given by either Mr. Tim Harman and/or Walter Daxer for granted.

If you like to know more details of this matter, please get in touch with me.

  1. Did this product ever work - i.e. did it ever give you sufficient hot water? I am thinking of installing the same in Spain.
